In track 3, some german is muttered in the later parts of the song. I've seen it written as

Horst du mich, du stehent?
dann komm her zu mir....grab mich aus...!

Which would be something like "You there, can you hear me? Then come here to me...dig me out!" or something. My german is pretty rubbish right now. Another interpretation I've seen is "dann kann mir du glauben...grab mich aus...!"

Any german speakers here help clarify?

The second sentence is ok. Your translation is also right. The german in this single sounds like the result of an online translator or something alike. The chinese forums I visit use the booklet for translation of the songtext. It seems that the booklet has all the foreign passages also in japanese, which would be the original meaning before turned into a bad foreign language.
Like "And the history remained..." =
"Und die His/Risse or whatever ist übrig geblieben." The word "His" does not exist in German, at least if revo use the language from the last few hundred years. It is actually possible, that it´s a word from medieval or even earlier. Because they spoke completely different than the Germans today. "Risse" means "scars" so it has no direct connection to "history". Maybe it´s just a typical japanese paraphrase, that is completely changed by a translating program.

The booklet does have some german in original Japanese, but that part in track 3 was nowhere to be found, so there's quite a bit of confusion on what it's supposed to be. I can definitely hear 'du' after 'mich', but after that I'm completely lost. Does the surround audio make any difference? http://nicosound.anyap.info/sound/sm11199394

See, that's the part where I'm rather confused about. What you said is what I'd normally assume, but it's rather clear that Annelise and Therese are different people...Annelise is the concubine with a disabled child, and Therese apparently got pregnant with her father, took a blind kid and ran into the forest. At this stage I'm not sure how they're related exactly.

I'm willing to bet that Revo's reasoning behind using Miku boils down to "it seemed like a good idea at the time." I don't condone cheapness or laziness, so I don't forgive him for it, but I'm not going to give up on the band just yet. I'll at least wait for the full album before making any judgments. Most of the band was missing from this CD, anyways.

Apparently young Maerz's voice in track 3 was made by an in-development vocaloid.

I'm sort of impressed. I totally thought that it was just a young boy singer.

I think the concept is neat so far. I couldn't care less what Revo wears. I also think the miku is a nice touch as she is playing a doll. He obviously has people who could sing instead so it's idiotic to say it's laziness. Just part of the vision, like it or not.

Differences between limited and normal edition:

• The bonus track in the normal edition is longer (3:13) than in the limited version (2:15)
• Revo is credited as Marchen von Friedhof in the limited edition and Idolfried Ehrenberg in the normal one. Looks like this isn't true for all copies, though.

Revo seems to be pretty sick of fags telling him to "make songs like that one again!" or "use [insert name of singer here] more!", so I'm kind of thinking we'll get a completely new cast soon.
Seems like people are forgetting that Revo is the only actual member of this band. Still he's in his mid-thirties now, I really wish he'd stop cosplaying.

Also, if he used Miku out of laziness I really doubt he'd get Miku's actual voice provider to do her speaking lines.

Question~ what time period do these three songs take place in? I'm getting a lot of mixed messages on the history of the story from looking at the art and stuff. So I did some research and now I'm more confused.

The last outbreak of the Black Plague in Germany took place in the mid-1600s. Germany was still notorious for witch-burning during that era, so it's plausible that it takes place then, buuuut I'm going to nitpick because I'm a huge fashion history geek.

Maerz's collar and breeches are early to mid 1600s style, but loose sleeves and boots were also the style in the early 1600s. Maerz's upturned sleeves and his shoes are the style of the latter half of that century.

Elisabeth's dress doesn't fit either way. It would look like this picture if it was from the same century as Maerz's clothes. In that era, women wore big poofy sleeves and dropped shoulders. Elisabeth's dress is obviously Victorian in style, and from the silhouette shape I would place it in the late 1860s. The bodice is more 1870s style, though. Her hair really doesn't fit anywhere.

Aaaand don't even get me started on interior design :)

I think how he used Miku was perfectly alright. Miku was used to voice/sing for a creepy ass doll character. And 'Miku' pulls off the creepy doll voice pretty damn well considering what she is.

I don't think they even wanted to achieve historical accuracy. In fact, from what the lyrics say (Black Death, Wise Women, Witch burnings..) it could have taken place anywhere between XIV and late XVII centuries.

So my guess is that, both visually and historically, all they wanted to achieve was giving the watcher/listener a "geman-like" feeling.

The names of Marz von Ludowing and Elizabeth von Wettin are a something of a hint; real-life Thuringia was ruled by the Ludowingian line until their extinction in 1247, after which they were succeeded by the Wettin dynasty.

Agh, I dunno. Doesn't help that Therese's genealogical tree resembles a lawn trellis, but I like to think Therese's father didn't have any more children but her and that she and Marz ended the Ludowingian line (adds a nice angle to the Elisabeth/Marz relationship) but doesn't really solve anything timeline-wise. Anyway, I'm of the view that the Black Death outbreak mentioned in Hikari to Yami no Douwa is the most well-known one from 1348 (mostly Elise's lines that could be interpreted as being about overpopulation) and that Therese and Marz came to the village well after it became deserted. (Again, Elise's lines sorta sound like that to me, plus if you were on the run from the Landgraaf, what's a better hiding place than an once-village ravaged by the plague in the middle of the forest?)

Okay, I know, I'm not helping. Most I can tell you that the story is definitely long over by the time of the Brothers Grimm, so yeah, anywhere from the XIVth to XVIth century.

Well... Revo made a post on his blog about the "confusing title"... in which he appears to be making fun of everyone trying to translate it. Apologies if I read it wrong and that's not the case, but that's what I got out of it.

Directly translated: "Id that leads to the forest which leads to id"

Revo blog translation:

I received lots of comments like that. It's okay! That's completely normal!

I intentionally gave this a title that you wouldn't comprehend until you understand the essence of the work itself. Actually, I'd be scared if you said "Right, I can see where you're going with this." (smiles)
If you remember the keyword of this maxi single, and listen to the album with that in mind, I think you'll understand the true meaning of it.

A bit of new info on the single that comes out on 6/16 - the setting is in a dark German forest which leads from the middle ages to the modern times - or sometime close to it. The single will be a prologue to the story CD that follows it(hence the title Prologue Maxi).

I'm not sure what to think about this new single... Miku? Really? And in the first video, Revo seems a little visual Kei.. I'm not diggin' it.

I'd like to point out something though. I didn't even realize it was Thanatos' eye until I pulled the jewel case off and tipped it sidways. If you tip it like a normal CD case, I always thought it looked like Moira's empty face staring at me... Am...I the only one who thought this? Coincidencce? or have I stumbled onto a double meaning image?

I took a picture of it to clarify. Yes, I left the jewel case on because it doesn't have the same effect when the eye is visible.

That's certainly Thanatos. Because...

Purple, which is known to be a mysterious color and the color of death, is the color of Thanatos.
The black thingy is half of the 'Θ' mark from Θανατος which is placed in the center of the forehead of Thanatos. We cannot see the other half because the image was too small for the whole thing.

BTW, if you visit the dummy site, you can see the same image there.
And the riddle is:
"Dear living children, why did you come to the underworld, against Mother's will?"
Since 'child' means 'human', 'underworld' means 'Hades' and 'Mother' means 'Moira', it is definitely Thanatos who is asking.
And Moira wouldn't get mad at us so easily, unlike bad-tempered Thanatos<<<<<<-gets shot>

I think you misunderstood me. I never said it wasn't Thanatos' eye/face, it's obviously the same picture as on the king records page... just that if you tip it sideways as in my picture it looks a lot like the 'faceless' Moira from the live. As in, the folds of the eye look like hair framing an obscured face (because of the jewel case). There's a good picture of that on page 4.

Maybe I'm the only one who sees it like that, but honestly the first time I took the CD out of the case and tried to make out that background. That image instantly popped to mind. Make what you will of it.

Every time you reply to an existing thread (without sageing), it will bump that thread to the top of the page, therefore moving the rest down the page. I'm sageing this thread when I reply because I want it to end up on the last page and get deleted. By not sageing you guys are countering that effect and just bringing it to the top again. There is however a sort of 'bump' limit, which is why the extremely long threads stop getting bumped after a while. That's probably what you're thinking of.

Conversely, you can just bump the good threads you want to save from disappearing after page 4.
